For more than a decade Mahbod has taught barbering — haircutting fundamentals, fades, scissor work and the business of running a chair. The academy he founded became one of the largest and most successful in the Middle East.
The studio on Grand Ave is where that teaching meets everyday clients: a consultation before every cut, techniques that grow out cleanly, and no shortcuts on the details. He also runs Mahbod Style Academy, where barbers learn the same methods.

From the Middle East to Downtown LA
Mahbod Style started as a barbering academy. Over more than ten years it trained tens of thousands of barbers and became one of the best-known names in men’s grooming education in the region.
The Downtown Los Angeles studio at 650 S Grand Ave is the brand’s first barbershop in the United States. It combines a barbershop and a women’s hair salon, so the studio serves downtown residents, office workers and hotel guests alike. We are working toward opening a licensed barber school in Los Angeles.
