Good to know

Grow better brows

Before

  • Don’t pluck for 2–3 weeks before your first visit
  • Bring a photo of the shape you like
  • Come without brow makeup

Between visits

  • Rebook every 2–4 weeks
  • Only remove obvious strays below the brow
  • Use a brow gel to set the shape
  • Add a lash lift for a finished look

Why threading instead of waxing or tweezing?

Threading removes hair line by line, so the brow artist can follow your natural arch exactly and catch the fine, short hairs that wax often misses. Because nothing sticks to the skin, it's the gentler choice for sensitive skin and for anyone using retinol, exfoliating acids or acne treatments, which can make waxing risky. Tweezing is fine for strays, but shaping a full brow with tweezers takes longer and is easy to overdo.

What happens in the appointment

We look at your natural brow line first. The goal is a cleaner version of your own shape, not a stencil. We agree on the arch and the tail, thread underneath and between the brows, tidy above the brow only where needed, then trim long hairs so the shape stays neat. The whole visit takes about 20 minutes and costs $25.

Does it hurt?

A quick pinch as each row comes out — most clients say it's easier than waxing, and the redness fades within an hour. Tip: don't book threading right before a big event; give yourself a few hours.

Choosing a shape

  • Soft arch — the most natural; suits almost every face.
  • Straighter brow — a younger, softer look; good for longer faces.
  • Defined arch — lifts the eye; good for round faces.
  • Men's clean-up — between the brows and a few strays underneath, nothing that looks “done.”

Growing brows back

Over-plucked? Stop tweezing for 4–6 weeks before your first visit so we have hair to work with. We'll shape around the gaps and you can fill lightly with a pencil while they grow.

Brows, lashes and a facial

Threading pairs well with a lash lift for a finished look without makeup, or a facial the same day. Our studio is at 650 S Grand Ave in Downtown Los Angeles, open every day from 9 AM to 8 PM; walk-ins welcome.

FAQ

Threading questions

How much is eyebrow threading?

$25 for about 20 minutes.

Does threading hurt?

A quick pinch as each line is removed. Most clients find it gentler than waxing.

How long do results last?

About 2–4 weeks.

Do you thread for men?

Yes — a clean-up between the brows and a tidy shape that still looks natural.

Is there eyebrow threading near me in Downtown LA?

Yes — Mahbod Style at 650 S Grand Ave is a short walk from the Financial District, Bunker Hill and 7th St/Metro Center. Walk-ins welcome, 9 AM to 8 PM daily.

Can I thread if I use retinol?

Yes. Threading is the safer choice for brows if you use retinol or exfoliating acids, since nothing sticks to the skin.
